Do I need a GP referral letter?
GP referral letters are not needed unless you are claiming your visit on insurance and your insurer requires one. However, GP referral letters are helpful because they provide your information and history so if you do have one please bring it with you to your appointment.

Which insurance companies do you work with?
Mr & Mrs Pisal are approved to provide gynaecological services by all the major insurance companies such as BUPA, AXA PPP, AVIVA, Allianz Worldwide, Bluecross Blueshield, BUPA International, Cigna, Groupama, Legal & General, Pru Health/Vitality, Royal & Sun Alliance, Simply Health and WPA. Ms Flemming is approved by BUPA, AXA PPP, Aviva, WPA, Cigna and Pru Health/Vitality.
A letter from your GP and pre-authorisation is usually required unless in an emergency. Please quote the GMC No (Mr. Pisal: 4492142; Mrs. Pisal: 4566911; Ms Flemming: 4384209) when speaking to your insurance company.
Please check with your insurer if fertility tests or treatment are covered as part of your policy.

Do you see international patients?
Yes, we do. However, we do not deal directly with all overseas insurers so you may need to settle your invoice at the time of your visit and claim back from your insurance company.

Are language translators available if necessary?
Depending on the hospital you are visiting there are translation services available on a limited basis. If you require a translator, please inform us at time of booking.

I have my period; do I need to cancel my appointment?
It depends on the nature and type of the appointment, if you get your period before a visit please inform the practice secretary who will advise what to do.

If I’ve seen a doctor privately, can I switch back to non-private treatment at a later time?
In order to revert to non-private (NHS) treatment, you need to go back to your GP for a referral.

What happens if I ask to be seen/treated by a female doctor only?
We have 3 female doctors available who see patients daily, however if you need a colposcopy or prefer to be seen at The Shard, this service and location is only available with Mr Pisal.

What services do you provide?
We provide initial fertility assessments, investigations and fertility treatments such as ovulation induction and follicle tracking. We also provide surgical treatments if required in helping resolve fertility issues.

Do you provide advice to same sex couples?
Yes we provide advice to same sex (female) couples.

Can I request someone else to be present when the doctor is examining me?
Yes, a nurse is always available and present during examinations but you can, if you prefer, bring a friend or family member to your consultation and examination.

Can I ask the doctor not to inform my family doctor or other healthcare professional about my treatment, condition or medical history?

Will I see the letters written to my doctor after a consultation?
If you ask us to correspond with your doctor or referring clinician, you will receive a copy of the letter.

Do you provide male fertility treatments?
Yes, we provide investigations for male partners and refer as appropriate to the right specialist.
